The Beijing New Airport terminal area consists of the passenger terminal building, transfer center, and comprehensive service building with parking structure, with a total building area of 1.03 million square meters. It exceeds Capital International Airport T3 Terminal and is currently the world's largest airport terminal building, with the terminal completed and operational in 2019. The architectural design was by Beijing Institute of Architectural Design.

The main indoor functional lighting adopts a combination of reflected indirect lighting, downward direct lighting, and low-level pole local lighting. While meeting lighting functions, it also expresses the characteristics of the architectural space.
